Quotable Bomey

This kid cracks me up on a daily basis with the things that come out of her mouth. Here's a sampling:

Putting her foot in the cold little pool she said, “I just got the freeze of this!”

“My airplane just fell in your ribs!” (a.k.a my 'herb' garden)

Simone (all whiny): “Where are my pants mommy!!!!???”
Me (all whiny and exasperated): “Simone! There right there on the floor!!!”
Simone: “You don’t have to say it like that!”
Me: "Well you said it like that!"
Simone: "Well don't copy me. I'm just a kid!"

Simone looking for Gabriel, “I don’t know where his self is…”

“What is the heck you’re doing?”

“That noise scared me out of the heck!”

“Where is earth Daddy is?”

Me to Simone doing a puzzle, “You’re a puzzle master Bome!”
Simone: “Yeah, I think I might be.”

Simone to me (wearing PJ’s I haven’t worn in ages): “Mommy, your jammies are terrific!”

Driving through a hilly road a little fast, Simone said, “That made me feel curious, going up and down!”

“I don’t know how I got so smart!"

Me: “Simone, one more push (on the swing) and I’m all done.”
Simone: "Oh crap."

This is such a good idea! I should make note of the hilarious things Lochlann comes out with.
Today's is, "That is SO SO SO COOL!"
I think she has been hanging around with Kelly!

"By nature people are learning animals. Birds fly; fish swim; humans think and learn. Therefore, we do not need to motivate children into learning by wheedling, bribing, or bullying. We do not need to keep picking away at their minds to make sure they are learning. What we need to do - and all we need to do - is to give children as much help and guidance as they need and ask for, listen respectfully when they feel like talking, and then get out of the way. We can trust them to do the rest."
John Holt
"In the end, the secret to learning is so simple: Think only about whatever you love. Follow it, do it, dream about it...and it will hit you: learning was there all the time, happening by itself." -Grace Llewellyn
"What we want to see is the child in pursuit of knowledge, not knowledge in pursuit of the child."
George Bernard Shaw
Real, natural learning is in the living. It's in the observing, the questioning, the examining, the pondering, the analyzing, the watching, the reading, the DO-ing, the living, the breathing, the loving, the JOY. It's in the joy. ~Anne Ohman
"How could youth better learn to live than by at once trying the experiment of living?" -Henry D. Thoreau
