Hampton State Beach 10/4
Last minute, we decided to follow Grandma & PaPa with Adeline & Amelia to the beach. I had a million things to do but Gabriel begged me and really, an 88* day in October? - what else should you be doing??
Of course we had a blast. Hampton beach has waves, something my kiddos are not familiar with even though we frequent beaches quite often.... just not wavy ones. So the undertow, and the feel of the ocean as it drags you toward it then catches you off guard with a crash just after, is a whole new ball game. Gabriel tried willing the waves to stop on command...
but was quick to recede when they didn't listen...
Grandma's grand plan was to walk the jetty to the end. We made it. But not without my heart skipping a few beats as the path was so not as people-friendly (never mind kid-friendly) as it used to be. A quick rest was in order before the jaunt back... Adeline and Amelia modeled for some of my best shots of the day. First, the sea spray crashing against the rocks gave an amazing backdrop.... (if you were willing to take 100 shots in five minutes to catch it just right!)... And a quiet moment for Amelia, who acted as if I wasn't inches from her face... Caden, quite sick of me being inches from his face, wouldn't give me the time of day. Nothing new. (Love his little quasi-outie though!)Capping off the day was Grandma complaining she had to carry the "wet kid", completely oblivious that in fact, though the kid was actually dry, the smoothie was not...
