I don't know why we waited so long to start Letterboxing again but we're just glad we made the plunge. This one was placed in Derry at the Robert Frost Farm. Before the hunt began, our crew began their own, as a snake was spotted in the tall grass by the rocks. Quite the exciting start to our day... (That would be my Lord of the Flies ringleader front and center with the tall stick.)
But back to the Letterbox... It wasn't long before we unearthed the treasure from a stone wall, hidden beneath a couple of rotten and slimey logs, stick still in hand.
Zillions of stampings later, we tramped out of the thick forest...
and happened upon a pond. Again, the boy with the rather large stick you can barely make out, is mine...
And lo and behold... a frog is found! (Guess the stick had to go!)
A really green, big slimey looking thing too.
It was all Simone could do
not to kiss it.
And it wasn't the last of them. A toad surfaced and was passed around for awhile...
and yet another snake was spotted but alas, not caught, much to Gabriel's chagrin.
So what could top all that you ask? The answer: a super sweet climbing tree!
After a brief interlude of meditating...
A bit of Ring-around-the-rosy was in order to cap off a lovely day...

I almost forgot about Letterboxing! We were totally into it last year and haven't done one this year yet. Thanks for the reminder!
